The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, drummer José Pasillasead and the lead guitarist Mike Einziger.

Michael Samuel Kiwanuka is a British indie and folk rock singer-songwriter and record producer who is signed with Polydor Records.
Michael Kiwanuka's 2012 debut album Home Again went gold in the UK and his sophomore album, Love & Hate, debuted in 2016 at number one.
Kiwanuka has been nominated for numerous honors, including the Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Mercury Prize, BBC Music Awards. In January 2012, he won the BBC's Sound of 2012.
