Heart, an American rock band established in 1973 in Seattle, Washington, emerged from earlier groups led by founders Roger Fisher (guitar) and Steve Fossen (bass guitar). These groups included The Army (1967–1969), Hocus Pocus (1969–1970), and White Heart (1970–1973). The band's successful lineup in the mid to late 1970s included Fisher, Fossen, Ann Wilson (lead vocals and flute), Nancy Wilson (rhythm guitar, vocals), Michael Derosier (drums), and Howard Leese (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals). This lineup contributed to Heart's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Known for blending hard rock, heavy metal, and folk influences, Heart experienced significant changes in its lineup between the late 1970s and early 1980s. Fisher, Fossen, and Derosier left and were replaced by Mark Andes (bass) and Denny Carmassi (drums). Despite a decline in popularity with the new lineup, Heart made a successful comeback in the mid-1980s with a series of major radio hits extending into the 1990s. The band disbanded in 1998 but has since reunited several times for tours and recordings, with the Wilson sisters remaining as consistent members.

Among Heart's US Top 40 singles are "Magic Man" (1975), "Crazy on You" (1976), "Barracuda" (1977), "What About Love" (1985), "Never" (1985), "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You" (1990), and number one hits "These Dreams" (1986) and "Alone" (1987).

Heart has received four Grammy nominations and sold over 50 million records globally, including around 22.5 million albums in the US. They have achieved top ten albums on the Billboard 200 across the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s. The band has been recognized as number 57 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and number 49 on Ultimate Classic Rock's Top 100 Classic Rock Artists.
